Zonelle “Nell” Henry Fulton age 80 of Ferris passed away peacefully on March 19, 2016 at Legend Oaks Rehabilitation in Ennis. Nell was born on September 17, 1935 to Tom and Nola Seat Henry in Cayuga, TX. Nell graduated from Palestine High School and then attended Baylor School of Nursing. Nell was a licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for almost 60 years. Nell was chosen as one of the best cooks in Ellis County by the Ellis County Now Magazine and she was chosen as Pioneer of the Year for 2015. Nell worked as a nurse until the birth of her son. She was briefly a stay at home mom and housewife and baked and decorated cakes to supplement the family income. But, she soon went to work in the family business Fulton & Fulton as the bookkeeper. In 1989 Nell returned to nursing working at DFW Medical Center in Grand Prairie and later retiring from Girling Home Health Care. Nell was a loving mother grandmother and friend. To all the kids in Ferris she was Granny. She was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church in Ferris and a member of the Ferris Lions Cub. Nell was still active in the Family business at the time of her death. Nell was an avid seamstress and loved to sew and quilt for her friends Nell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years Charles Neal Fulton, daughter, Doris Jean Fulton Gilbert and one grandson Tyler Johnathon Fulton. Nell is survived by her loving family. Son, Charles Wayne “Charlie Brown” Fulton of Ferris, grandchildren; Johnathon C. Fulton, Sr. and his wife Erika of Dallas, Shelby Fulton and her Fiancé Scott Hammond of Rice, and Macey Potyraj of Plano, 6 great grandchildren, Brother in Laws, Robert Fulton and his wife Carolyn of Lancaster, Raymond Fulton and his wife Patsy of Corsicana and Billy Tom Fulton and his wife Shirley of Bristol, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled at 2:00 PM Tuesday March 22, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Ferris with Rev. Alex Latu and Rev. Cathy Mordecai officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday March 21, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Ferris. Interment will follow at Ferris Memorial Park North in Ferris.
